Ismael Geronimo
Coach Ismael discovered his love for soccer later in life, but it quickly became a central part of who he is. Though he grew up focused on music—especially playing guitar—and didn't participate in sports until after high school, his natural competitive spirit found a new home on the soccer field. Basketball was his first love, but it was his wife, Alex, a lifelong soccer player, who introduced him to the sport in 2012. After joining her indoor team, Ismael was hooked, and he's been playing recreationally ever since.
With three years of coaching experience, Ismael currently serves as the head coach for the JV2 girls soccer team at Tigard High School. He brings passion, energy, and a strong belief that hard work and dedication can lead to success both on and off the field. He especially enjoys coaching youth athletes, finding deep fulfillment in helping them build not just their skills, but their confidence and character as well.
Ismael attended Portland Community College and continues to pursue knowledge and growth in all aspects of life. Outside of coaching and playing, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing guitar. He and Alex have two children—Nolan, who plays competitive club soccer with Albion, and their youngest, Addison, who just recently turned one. For Ismael, soccer is more than a game; it’s a shared passion, a way of life, and a connection to the people he loves most
